Relationships: On a day-to-day basis, relationship go sour behind theses walls. A lot of it stems from lack of communication, which also leads to lack of trust…. How can a person maintain a healthy relationship if they cannot communicate their loved ones? Its like the prison system does everything it possibly can to see us fail……Sending mail out and receiving mail in is a form of communication, which could help ease people’s minds, especially on segregation. Yet, that too has been proven difficult. When administration either throws your mail away or gives it to someone else. Now, your only way of communication is being stopped, which places a strain on relationships, that causes thoughts to enter peoples mind, that people no longer care, which leads to trust issues, eventually causing so much stress on the relationship that it is eventually broken up…. When you complain your grievances are destroyed. Or they ask stupid questions like, does your family know the address or your opus number? Before coming to prison, I had a support system. Over time, the prison has cut my communication so much, that every one of my relationships have gone sour. Now here I sit inside these prison walls, where it’s dark, cold, and lonely.
